Through their efforts\, they not only maintain and improve the local trails but also ensure that outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a safe and well-kept environment. Their passion for the land and the community shines through in every project they undertake\, and their selfless contributions are a testament to their commitment to preserving the beauty of  the SVAT trails for future generations. SUMMARY:SVAT Dave Ward Lake Memorial Service
DESCRIPTION:The Sussex Valley All-Terrain Club is honoured to put on a memorial service at Dave Ward Lake in memorial of David Malcolm Ward\, a Forest Ranger who was murdered in  January 1966 while he was scaling logs.  The SVAT in partnership with the Province of NB have purchased and installed a monument at the lake\, named in honour of Dave Ward. There will be a short service at the monument site on April 26th\, 2025.  The plan is to meet at the SVAT parking lot\, just past Adair’s Wilderness Lodge at 10:30 am where we will board a bus that will take us to the site.  After the service we will come back to the old Ranger Camp where we will enjoy some light refreshments before departing.  There is no charge for this event.
